With Mothering Sunday fast approaching it got us thinking about what it’s really all about. Is this modern celebration another day to get presents? A day to have a day off from the kids? Or a day to spend spoiling your kids because, without them, you wouldn’t be celebrating this day anyway?
Mother’s Day is an American tradition and when it started back in the early 20th century, it was not commercially driven – it was simply to honour motherhood, maternal bonds and the influence of mothers. There were no cards, gifts and flowers. How times have changed!
So if you want to say Thank You this Sunday here are a few gift ideas for those still searching.
1. Baby Matters gift voucher: everyone gets to benefit, and what’s better than the promise of a good night’s sleep!
2. Do Not Disturb Spa in a Box: from temple spa, this gorgeous set is ideal for busy mummies who want some R&R e to lie in the bath pampering herself for an hour and it even comes with a do not disturb sign for your door.
3. Potter Around: take a trip to Potter Around, Kirknewton, and make her a special keepsake with hand and foot prints or just free painting
4. A photo shoot: I know how much I love seeing my little people grow and capturing those memories.
However, for me the main thing is getting lots of cuddles every day, telling my children I love them and how amazing they are. Oh, and breakfast and bed is always great too!
